Climate and Water Resilience Farm Plan

El Sobrante, California | Project Manager

Context: A 10-acre farm in the hillslopes of El Sobrante, CA, hugging Garrity Creek, sought to enhance its water and climate resilience through a comprehensive farm plan.

Task: With limited flat surface area, the goal was to identify innovative strategies to slow, spread, and sink water on the landscape, supporting farm decision-makers with exhibits and cost estimates.

Approach:

  • Harvested rainwater from the work shed roof for greenhouse irrigation, securing high-quality water for agricultural use

  • Collaborated with Contra Costa Resource Conservation District (CCRCD) for efficient water planning

  • Hosted three community skill shares to engage stakeholders, local farmers and promote water-wise practices
